Ebenezer shows versatility and hit-making ability as he debuts new project ’53 Sundays’ at listening party

The London based singer has created a buzz for himself over the past year with songwriting credits for artists like Craig David and Ty Dolla Sign, and with his own songs like Survival and Ask Around, along with his appearance on Col3trane’s ‘Language’.
At a studio located in West London, singer and songwriter Ebenezer invited people in to hear his latest project. This was a chance for fans, peers and potentially new fans to hear and meet Ebenezer.
A very humble person, before playing each song, Ebenezer would tell a story of how that song came about and what inspired that particular song. Tearjerker stories of sleeping in phone booths, losing belief in god, arguments with his parents about pursuing his career and dreams of owning a Lamborghini Murcielago were just some of the inspiration Ebenezer took for this project; entitled 53 Sundays.
53 Sundays was the projects opening track, with Ebenezer confessing his loss of faith in the opening line – ‘I ain’t been to church in about 53 Sundays.’ A big and recurring theme on the project, it makes perfect sense that this song was not only the intro but the name of the project itself.
The albums second song, my personal favourite, entitled Christian Dior, is again a song about faith and loss of it, but this time with a beat that can shut down and turn up any event – a blend that only certain artists can achieve. The ability to create a song that speaks on a difficult subject but is easy for fans to listen to and digest is something Artists battle to do their entire career and very early into his young career, Ebenezer has already put himself in a bracket of artist that has proven he can do that.
Ebenezer professes his love for his older brother on the projects interlude, entitled ‘Brother’s Keeper’. He told the room this song is an ode to an older brother who never had the chance to experience a real childhood and somebody who supported him throughout his ups and downs as a musician.
This is a vast change to the inspiration Ebenezer gathers for the song ‘Mercy’; inspired by his dreams of one day owning a Lamborghini Murcielago. But with the emotion on this song, along with the use of choir vocals, you never would have guessed it.
An unmixed, unmastered and unfinished version of 53 Sundays had the whole room applauding after each track, so we can only speculate just how the entire full-length project is going to sound, but all signs point to a bright future for Ebenezer!
